Histoire d’Amélie

From the very start, Amélie’s life was a rich tapestry woven with threads of art and adventure.

Born in the heart of Paris to well-travelled parents, she inherited a love of exploration at a very young age. Throughout her childhood and into early adulthood, she journeyed the picturesque landscapes of France, absorbing the beauty of its cities, villages and vineyards.

Wherever she went, Amélie carried an intriguing aura – a certain je ne sais quoi – that captivated those around her. She exuded a warmth that drew people in and was a welcome friend to everyone who crossed her path. At ease in all social settings, she would rub shoulders with members of the it crowd and passers-by along the street alike.

Together with her charm, Amélie carried an admirable strength of character and independence. She forged her own path in life and was never swayed by the opinions of others.

Upon her twenty-fifth birthday, Amélie’s life journey took a poignant turn when her parents passed away, leading her to the doorstep of her grandfather in the south of France. A bohemian painter with connections to the rich and famous, he became a mentor to Amélie. It was within her grandfather’s studio that Amélie fell in love with the arts, cultivating skills that would later define her as a renowned art dealer and collector.

Due to her newfound interest in the art world, London became the next chapter of Amélie’s life. There, she transformed an old arts and crafts warehouse in Belgravia into her haven, inviting painters and artists to share in the creative process. Days were spent painting, debating and laughing. Come night time, candlelit dinners around the studio table brought together an eclectic crowd, forming a community where art and friendship intertwined.
